Save Money With a Clothes Drying Rack

Hey want to save some money? Here’s one way to do it and to get better smelling and less wrinkled clothes in the bargain. First, wash your clothes in your portable washer. Then,  instead of wasting money on electricity using your electric dryer, use a clothes drying rack.

Not only will you save money and help the environment, but a laundry drying rack does not make any noise. So watch TV or sleep without hearing the loose change from your jeans bang around in your dryer.

A drying rack is also a great choice if you want your clothes to last longer. Just stop and think about it and common sense will tell you that a clothes dryer is bound to increase wear and tear on your wardrobe. I mean seriously, you are taking your wet clothes, bundling them together, and jamming them in your dryer. Now you are going to subject them to heat and tumble them over and over for at least half an hour. That has to take its toll on the fabric, buttons and trim of your valuable clothing.

Clothes drying racks have another advantage -- less work once your clothes are dry. When you pull your laundry out of a clothes dryer, it's hot, full of static and wrinkled. Using a drying rack, however, will leave you with clothes that are ready to fold or put on a hanger with no further effort.

Most modern clothes drying racks are made of either plastic or wood, although you can still find some high quality metal units. One thing they all have in common is portability. Not only is this great when you're visiting the family back home, but when you have company and the washer and dryer are already loaded up it takes some of the strain off of them.

Now, I know that there are times when you want to get your clothes dried quickly, and for those times you're going to want to use an electric dryer. But not everyone has room for a washer and dryer, not everyone has money for washer and dryer, and not everyone lives in a space where having their own appliances is possible. For these people a drying rack is a great alternative to a trip to the laundromat. Add in a compact washing machine, and they can dispense with the laundromat.

Ladies especially will appreciate a laundry drying rack. They can wash their delicates by hand with Woolite or similar, and then simply lay them across the rack to dry overnight. Total cost = pennies.

There also many clothing items which simply cannot be mechanically washed and dried. These would include the ladies unmentionables which were mentioned above, as well as certain kinds of sweaters and athletic gear. If these are part of your wardrobe, you will appreciate the versatility of accommodation of the sink of warm water and a drying rack give you.
