The two most important qualities which are going to be looking at as you choose your curtain fabric are:

  • The weight of the fabric
  • whether the fabric is patterned or plain

Designer curtain fabric

If you want to spend a little bit extra, you can use designer fabrics to get a unique, high and look. Typically designer fabrics will use a better grade of cloth and more original designs. Whether or not it's worth the extra cost is up to you. I usually reserve this high-end choice for formal living and dining rooms, preferring to go with simpler fabrics for bedrooms and kitchen curtain's.

Patterned fabrics

If you're looking for patterned fabric are certainly no deficit of choices. You going to be able to find a multitude of floral and foliage artwork will and also just about any kind of animal that you can imagine. It really does run the gamut. You can find everything from children's prints featuring their favorite cartoon characters to NASCAR.

Curtain fabric texture

You can choose something smooth like satin, or may be so curtain fabric. Or if you're looking for a coarser look you can try a simple lemon or even canvas. You can also go for a fuzzy velvet texture or select an irregular we've using different thread counts. Remember to take into consideration the kind of fabric you use on your furniture, and also any route you may have in the room. What you're trying to do here is form a cohesive whole not a jarring contrast.

It's easy to get distracted by all the different textures and patterns available. They certainly had quite a bit of pizzazz to any decorating plan. But, especially if some of the other items were furniture pieces in the room are a bit busy, you don't want to forget playing, solid color fabrics. Especially if the cloth has a bit of sheen to it a subdued solid colored curtain can add an element of calm and elegance to a room. Remember that you are not limited ot curtains either.
